Two day watercolour painting courses at this
stunning riverside location.

Nestling  on the banks of the River Wye and gazing over to Ross on Wye,
the Wilton Court Hotel enjoys the most idyllic location with its own riverbank
 frontage as swans gliding past , and  a wide variety of  wildlife 
- including kingfishers, Peregrine falcons  and the occasional otter -
 may be spotted.

A fifteen minute walk across the picturesque bridge will lead you into the town,
 distinguished by its 16th century market place and Tudor timbered houses
clustered around the striking 17th century market hall.
(where twice weekly markets are still held).

Ross on Wye is surrounded by breathtaking Herefordshire countryside
and the Wye Valley.  Places of interest  nearby include the Malvern Hills,
 the Black Mountains, the Forest of Dean , various historic castles ,
 the cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester, plus the Market
 towns of Hay on Wye , Ledbury, Leominster and Ludlow.

 

Watercolour painting courses held at the Wilton court are designed for beginners and improvers.   They are fun, informative, working in a no pressure, relaxed environment.   All painting tools and materials are supplied for the course.   Two days  tutoring from a professional artist including demonstrations of techniques used.   A maximum of 5 students allowing  time to give each student individual tuition.

Program

First day Start at 9.30 a.m. Introduction and morning tea/coffee First painting session 10.15 to 12.30 Mid day sandwich lunch Second painting session 1.30 p.m. to 5p.m. including an afternoon tea/coffee break. Finish 5p.m.   Optional 3 course evening meal Bed and breakfast (with en-suite facilities and English breakfast)

Second day Start at 9.30 a.m. First painting session 9.30 to 12.30 including a morning tea/coffee break. Mid day sandwich lunch Second painting session 1.30 p.m. to 5p.m. including an afternoon tea/coffee break. Finish 5p.m.

Watercolour workshops Content will be depending on your personal requirements. Beginners will get a sound grounding in the basics so  they can practice with tried and tested  techniques that are normally used. Knowing your tools.  Sizing your picture. Understanding colours. Using light and shade. Shading, tones and texture. Watercolour techniques used.  Still life / landscapes /  seascapes / flowers  etc. Beginners should take home 2 or 3 completed pictures.       2 Day watercolour course prices For people not requiring any B & B or evening meal the price of the 2 day course would be £220.00 per person in 2010 and £230.00 per person in 2011. For people requiring  B & B and an evening meal the price of the 2 day course would be £280.00 per person in 2010 and £290.00 per person in 2011  If  2 people attending the course are sharing a double  room then the price would be.£253.00 per person in 2010 and £263.00 per person in 2011 For non-course attending partners a discounted B & B and evening meal price would be £50.00 If you wish to arrive the night before the course or extend your stay then you would require to book those nights independently and not include them in your course fees.
