Two day watercolour painting course in Ross on Wye

The Royal Hotel, known locally as “The Face of Ross-on-Wye” was originally built in 1837 and has recently been the subject of major work to restore it to its former beauty.
Standing high above the horseshoe bend of the River Wye, The Royal enjoys some of the best views of the surrounding countryside. This majestic grade II Georgian Country Hotel, boasts many famous visitors including Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens, who planned his American Biography whilst staying here.
This is a historic area of outstanding natural beauty, having a busy market town, with its interesting selection of shops. One pleasure you can be guaranteed, is the welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, comfortable rooms and unique relaxed style of hospitality, which makes The Royal a favourite with locals, business people and visitors alike.

 

This course is designed for beginners and improvers. If  you would like to stay in a majestic Georgian Country Hotel with breathtaking views of forests and river for then this is for you.   They are fun, informative, working in a no pressure, relaxed environment.   All painting tools and materials are supplied for the course.   Two days  tutoring from a professional artist including demonstrations of techniques used.   A maximum of 6 students allowing  time to give each student individual tuition.

Course price All the above program  and  art materials supplied for the course are included in the price of £295 per person. £270 p.p. if  2 people attending the course are sharing a double room. For non-course attending partners a discounted B & B and evening meal price would be £32.50 If you wish to arrive the night before the course then you would require to book a further night B & B.

Watercolour workshops Content will be depending on your personal requirements. Beginners will get a sound grounding in the basics so  they can practice with tried and tested  techniques that are normally used. Knowing your tools.  Sizing your picture. Understanding colours. Using light and shade. Shading, tones and texture. Watercolour techniques used.  Still life / landscapes /  seascapes / flowers  etc.
