Two day watercolour painting course
in this beautiful location.

This Magnificent early 18th century house was built approx
1700, nestling in 9 acres of manicured landscaped gardens
& walks, overlooking the hills & valleys of Flintshire. It is
personally supervised by the owners 'The Buckley family'.
It has been lovingly restored to provide eleven en-suite
bedrooms, all of which are individually designed, each with
its own period furniture, fireplaces & special features.

Guests can wander around the grounds, sit on the benches,
and watch the wildlife including the hotels own peacocks.
From its elevated position you can enjoy views of Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, and beyond.

This course is designed for beginners and improvers.

They are fun, informative, working in a no pressure, relaxed environment.
All painting tools and materials are supplied for the course.
Two days tutoring from a professional artist
including demonstrations of techniques used.
A maximum of 5 students allowing
time to give each student individual tuition.

Program

First day

Tea, coffee, and still or sparkling water
is available in the art room throughout the day.
(included in the course fee)

Start at 9.00 a.m. - Introduction.
Including information on tools being used.

09.45 a.m. Start first painting

12.30 Mid day 2 course lunch with tea / coffee

1.30p.m. start afternoon painting session.

Finish between 5 p.m.and 6.00 p.m.

For those who are staying B & B
7.30 p.m. Evening meal
(3 Course dinner)

Bed and breakfast
(with en-suite facilities and a wide choice of breakfast)

Second day

Tea, coffee, and still or sparkling water

Start at 9.00 a.m.
9.00a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Painting

12.30 Mid day 2 course lunch with tea / coffee

1.30p.m. start afternoon painting session.

Finish 5p.m.

A comprehensive set of notes on
tools and techniques used
are supplied on the course.

Course prices

For people not requiring any B & B or evening meal
the price of the 2 day course would be £170.00 per person.

For people requiring B & B and a 3 course evening meal
the price of the 2 day course would be £240.00 per person.

If 2 people attending the course are sharing a double
room then the price would be.£230.00 per person.

For non-course attending partners a discounted
B & B and evening meal price would be £30.00

If you wish to arrive the night before the course or extend your stay then
you would be required to book those nights independently and not
include them in your course fees.
State that you are on the art course when booking extra nights B & B.

A non refundable £50.00 deposit is asked for at time of booking.

Watercolour workshops

Content will be depending on your personal requirements.

Beginners will get a sound grounding in the basics so
they can practice with tried and tested
techniques that are normally used.

Knowing your tools.
Sizing your picture.
Understanding colours.
Using light and shade.
Shading, tones and texture.
Watercolour techniques used.
Still life / landscapes /
seascapes / flowers
etc.
Beginners should take home
2 or 3 completed pictures.

Book early to avoid disappointment as there are only 5 places on each course.
